Silicon Valley Safety
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Silicon Valley Safety (“SVS,” “we,” or “I”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with its consulting services, website, and text messaging communications. SVS is a sole proprietorship operated by Michael Pyo, CESCP, based in Fremont, California.
1About This Policy
SVS is not a technology company, does not operate consumer-facing software products, and does not collect personal data in the ordinary sense. This policy exists to provide transparency and to satisfy vendor onboarding and SMS messaging compliance requirements.
2Information We Collect
SVS collects only the minimum information necessary to conduct business:
- Business contact information: name, title, company, email address, phone number
- Billing and invoicing information: company name, billing address, purchase order numbers
- Communications: emails, text messages, and correspondence related to service engagements
SVS does not collect social security numbers, payment card data, health or medical information, government-issued identifiers, or sensitive personal data of any kind.
3How We Use Information
Information collected by SVS is used solely to deliver contracted training and consulting services, issue invoices and process payments, communicate with clients about engagements and scheduling (including by text message), and comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations. SVS does not use contact information for marketing to third parties, does not sell data, and does not engage in profiling or automated decision-making.
4Information Sharing and Disclosure
SVS does not sell, rent, trade, or share client information with third parties for commercial purposes. Information may be disclosed only as required by law, legal process, or government authority; to enforce contractual rights or protect the safety of any person; or with the explicit written consent of the affected party. SVS uses standard cloud productivity tools (Google Workspace) for email and document storage, governed by their own privacy and security frameworks.
5SMS / Text Messaging Communications
5.1 How You Consent (Opt-In)
Silicon Valley Safety sends text messages only to existing clients and business contacts who provide their phone number directly to SVS and who explicitly request or agree to receive text messages from Silicon Valley Safety. When a contact is reached in person or by phone, SVS asks them directly whether they want to receive text messages and only messages them after they clearly say yes. SVS does not infer consent from someone sharing a phone number alone, and does not message anyone who has not clearly agreed. By opting in, you agree to receive informational and conversational text messages from Silicon Valley Safety, including training confirmations, scheduling and logistics coordination, follow-up messages, and answers to your questions.
SMS Consent Disclosure
- Program: Silicon Valley Safety sends informational and conversational text messages to confirm and coordinate training, share site logistics, and answer client questions.
- Sender: Messages are sent by Silicon Valley Safety.
- How consent is obtained: Verbally, in person or by phone — the contact provides their number and is asked directly whether they agree to receive texts, and is only messaged after they say yes.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Help: Reply HELP or email info@siliconvalleysafety.com.
- Opt out: Reply STOP or CANCEL at any time to unsubscribe.
- Privacy: Mobile opt-in data is never shared with third parties. See Section 5.2 below.
5.2 Mobile Data Sharing
Customer data is not shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. We maintain internal access controls, confidentiality requirements, and security safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, use, or sharing of user data. Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared with anyone for any purpose. Any information sharing that may be mentioned elsewhere in this policy excludes mobile opt-in data and consent.
5.3 Messaging Terms and Conditions
- The messaging program consists of general conversational messaging to answer questions and provide support to customers.
- You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text ‘STOP’ to the phone number from which you received messages. After you send the SMS message ‘STOP’ to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
- If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at info@siliconvalleysafety.com.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency will vary based on communication needs. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
- If you have any questions regarding privacy, please read the rest of this Privacy Policy.
6Data Retention
Business contact and invoicing records are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years to satisfy standard business and tax record-keeping requirements. Engagement-specific materials (training content, site documentation) are retained only for the duration of the active engagement and deleted upon project close unless otherwise required by contract.
7Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information SVS holds about you by contacting us directly. Given the minimal nature of data collected, such requests are typically resolved within a few business days.
8Security
SVS maintains reasonable technical and administrative safeguards appropriate to the nature and scope of information collected. See the SVS Information Security Policy and Statement for full details on controls in place.
9California Residents (CCPA)
SVS does not sell personal information. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any right, contact SVS directly. Given SVS’s limited data collection, the practical impact of these rights is minimal.
